## Good Morning — This Day on the Banks

A piece of Banks history: the menhaden and seafood fleets of Wanchese have worked the sounds and the ocean for generations, one of the last great commercial fishing harbors left on the North Carolina coast.

Yesterday the Brief asked whether a Great sunrise or sunset rating alone is enough to get you out of bed or off the couch. The vote split right down the middle — 50% said yes, 50% said no, out of a small early crowd.

## The Conditions

**North Banks (Corolla–Duck):** high 82° / low 73°, sunny **Central (Kitty Hawk–Nags Head):** high 85° / low 73°, sunny, northwest wind 3 to 10 mph **Hatteras & Ocracoke:** high 82° / low 78°, sunny

**Water:** 77° at the Duck buoy **Tides:** Low 2:40am · High 8:44am · Low 2:33pm · High 8:54pm **Sun:** rises 6:07am, sets 8:10pm **Moon:** 🌕 Full moon
